Keratin, a natural protein, is the main constituent of hair.
It is made up of amino acids, one of which is known as cysteine. It forms the strong bonds in your hair. We are born with strong cysteine bonds, and a smooth protective layer of keratin, hence very healthy strong hair.
Over time, pollution, age, the use of shampoos, conditioners, various hair products, and chemical processes such as colour or just simply blow drying or flat ironing, these cysteine bonds weaken and even break, causing damaged, frizzy, unmanageable hair. It’s like we’ve now have pot holes all over the structure of our hair due to the loss of our original keratin. When we have these holes in the hair, humidity in the air will penetrate through these holes and cause the hair to inflate and look frizzy where the hair is no longer smooth.
So what we need to do is to repair the pot holes by infusing keratin where it is lacking, so that we can renew the protective layer around the hair which will fill the holes, strengthen the bonds, and create a smooth protective keratin surface which will repel humidity, and appear shiny and healthy.
A keratin treatment is a temporary smoothing system which will reduce curl, frizz and volume and give the client smooth, silky, shiny, and easy to manage healthy hair by replacing the lost proteins.
